Si ritiene che il progenitore del Bedlington Terrier sia stato un cane chiamato Old Flint, nato nel 1782 in una cittadina vicino a Rothbury, nel Northumberland, in Inghilterra.
Il motto del Bedlington Terrier Club of America è “The Head of a Lamb and the Heart of a Lion” – la testa di un agnello e il cuore di un leone: una descrizione perfetta di questa razza. Ma vi consigliamo di non dimenticare che il Bedlington ha anche… i denti di un coccodrillo!
